Affiliate marketing is fast becoming one of the most effective ways to make money online. People are attracted to the idea of generating income from the comfort of their homes. Like me, many people are looking for ways to provide financial security for their families.
Many are asking what the best affiliate marketing training is. While the idea of making money through affiliate marketing is appealing, it does take a certain amount of training and expertise.
Don’t worry, it is not extremely complicated. Anyone can do it as long as they have a blueprint to follow. So what is the blueprint?
AFFILIATE MARKETING IN A NUTSHELL
Before we delve into the components of Affiliate Marketing (AM) lets briefly touch on what it is.
Affiliate marketing is a model by which you, the blog or website owner, get paid through a commission for selling someone else’s product.
The benefits of affiliate marketing to you:
- No inventory to buy, manage or store
- No shipping
- No customer service headaches
Add to the benefits listed above the fact that you can make a substantial amount of money every month, and you can see the appeal!
TYPES OF AFFILIATE MARKETING TRAINING
There are a lot of different flavors of AM training but I think that we can break it all down into 2 general categories:
- One time bundle offer
- Membership site training
Let me clarify!
The one time bundle offer is what you will find most often when looking for training. It can be broad or specific to some facet of AM. This is combination bundle of videos and PDF’s that will walk you through the different steps of AM.
You pay a one time fee and you get immediate access to the training material. Unfortunately, many of these bundled training offers will hit you with upsells if you want to learn the more advanced skills. Sometimes those upsells can be in the hundreds if not thousands of dollars.
There are some good ones out there. In fact that is how I started in affiliate marketing. Unfortunately, this field of Affiliate marketing training is full of Hype and SCAMs. Most of them are peddling get-rich-quick schemes that promise thousands of dollars in a week or a month’s time.
Unsuspecting and eager marketers often fall for these SCAMs and quickly get burned out. They quickly give up, joining the ranks of people that are convinced that Affiliate marketing is a scam! It is a shame.
The second type of training is the membership sites. These sites offer a large benefit in that they combine a large community of affiliate marketers (many of them super affiliates) with tools and courses.
You will have access to website building and keyword research tools as well as live and recorded courses that will take you step by step through the process of picking a niche to monetizing your site.
I like this type of course because of one thing! You can make up your own mind whether the program is legit or not.
These membership sites should offer a free starter membership. It is usually limited but with enough content and courses to give you a good feel for it.
You should be able to test drive it and see if it works for you.
Sure there are membership sites SCAMs out there but unlike for the bundles that you have to pay for out right, you can try the membership sites and decide whether they are worth your money before shelling out any cash.
WHAT THE TRAINING SHOULD LOOK LIKE
I am going to assume that you are either new to affiliate marketing or that you have some limited experience with one or two websites. This advice is geared to you.
Affiliate marketing in a nutshell consists of 4 steps. The training should be geared towards helping you through each of those steps. Every training will have their own flare and take on the steps in different ways but they should all be consistent.
The steps are to pick a niche, build a site, attract readers and finally make money by monetizing your site.
- –Picking a niche: This is often an immediate roadblock. The training should walk you through what a niche is. More than that it needs to explain to you what a good niche is.
- -Create a site: The training should walk you through the steps of creating a blog or website. It would be even better if it gave you some tools to make the process quicker and more fool proof. Check out this video on how to create a website in about 30 secs
- – Attract an audience: You should be walked through the logic and the steps of creating original and engaging content. This is the lifeblood of your business. Without knowing how to do this correctly, you will fail.
- -Monetize: How do you make money from your blog? The training should be clear on how to do this the right way. Stuff your site with affiliate links and you will find it hard to succeed. The training needs to show you how to do this the right way.
