Passive Income From Blogs – What You Need To Know!

passive income from blogs

If you love to write then the best thing you can do is find a way to combine your writing with the ability to earn money.

It would be even better if you could do this in a passive manner. Creating a blog and then monetizing it might be the best way to go in this case. Passive income from blogs is perfect for anyone who wants to build an online content empire that can be scaled.

I will show you exactly how to go about doing this. First lets get into what passive income is for those who might not be clear.

The first thing I want to make sure you are clear on is that passive income doesn’t mean not doing anything. You don’t just get to sit back and get paid for doing no work. You have to put some effort and create value.

Think of passive income as something that doesn’t require your constant effort in order to make money.

You do something once and then you get paid over and over again for it.

It’s like if you wrote a book and sold it through various means. You put in the work to write the book and now you get paid whenever one sells in the form of a royalty check each month.

If you had a conventional job (no matter how good the job is), then you’d be getting paid by the hour right? Do you think you can get rich this way or even really well off? The answer is no. You only have a few hours in each day in order to make money this way.

With passive income you put in the work once, regardless of the time it takes. After this you get paid over and over again. Successful business people and entrepreneurs love passive income, because it enables them to properly leverage their time and energy in order to scale up their income to astronomical levels.

Content is the heart and soul of the internet. Without content, you have nothing. When you create compelling content that people want to read, then they’ll share it. You’re blog traffic will grow and you’ll have a real asset on your hands.

Let’s say you wanted to write a blog on traveling around the world. You create really entertaining posts that keeps the attention of readers and compels them to share with others.

Now you can monetize your blog in different ways. You can be an affiliate for different products that you’d recommend at the end of posts. You can recommend travel companies, luggage, credit cards with excellent flying miles benefits…..You can have affiliate links within your content or on other parts of your blog.

Your affiliate links contain cookies that identify you as the person who referred buyers to the merchant. So when someone buys through your link you get paid.

You can even use AdSense (static ads) or CPA marketing (this is where you get paid when someone provides specific information therefore becoming a qualified lead).

Let’s not forget you asking for email addresses through a lead capture program you’d have for those who wanted access to specific premium content, you provided for just your list subscribers.

You can monetize your list using affiliate programs as well or even try your hand at a product you create yourself.

Your number one goal first has to be creating high quality content people want to read.

Then you can generate traffic, but you don’t just want to wait for the traffic to come.

You can utilize other means such as social media. In either case, once you have traffic you can monetize it using one of these methods:

You can use ads– These are brokered by ad networks. Once you qualify (you have enough daily traffic to your site) You can get paid for simply having a block of ads placed on your posts and having folks click on those ads. It doesn’ get more passive than that!

PPC-This is an advanced traffic generation method. You basically create short ads that get presented to people searching for specific things. If they click on your ad while searching, you pay the advertising company (Adwords is Google’s ad company). This can be a huge source of traffic. It requires a lot of knowledge and testing. If you are new, stay away from it until you gain more experience.

CPA-CPA is nothing more than lead generation. There are high and low level lead generation methods. Some require a person to only enter their name and email address for you to get paid. Other CPA offers require a person to leave credit card info, name and phone number as well as a time they can be reached. These tend to pay much better though.

Organic traffic-If you can get organic traffic to a blog you create, then you’re already ahead. The reason why is because you’re not paying for traffic. So there’s no risk. Once you had targeted, organic traffic on your blog, then you can do with it what you want. This is my favorite type of traffic and the one I rely on most in my own affiliate marketing business.

Passive income from blogs that will be enough to pay the bills might take some time. You typically need a lot of targeted traffic first before the money you make becomes enough to matter.

If you’re able to create compelling content though, and find ways to promote that content, then you can get there faster.

If you already own a blog and have great traffic, then it really is a matter of picking one, or a combination of methods listed above and you will be in the money.
